Meet the Owner
Robert (Bob) Falkowski has carved a unique and multifaceted path in both his professional and personal pursuits. Born into a family that operated a small grocery store on the Iron Range from 1923 to 2015, Bob learned a strong sense of community service and work ethic from an early age.
Bob's journey into the trades began as a teenager when he felt a calling to pursue a career that involved hands-on skills. After completing college with an Associate of Arts degree and a carpentry certification in 2008, he navigated through various odd jobs, a stint in the carpenter's union (606), and worked at an iron foundry for a year and a half before finding his true calling in maintenance. Over the next ten years, Bob honed his skills in maintenance and construction, eventually transitioning to Duluth to work for a prominent developer.
His formal carpentry training laid a solid foundation for his versatile and adaptive approach to learning on the job. Bob excelled in painting apartment units and remodeling, showcasing a solid problem-solving ability and persistence crucial to any endeavor.
Bob's initiation into the maintenance world was challenging, involving 120 units across three sites that had been neglected for nearly three years. Armed with a strong carpentry background, he tackled the job, learning about various trades and property management along the way, ultimately transforming the units into smoothly functioning spaces.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Bob is a person of diverse interests and hobbies. From weightlifting and fitness to woodworking, building guitars and basses, and indulging in his passion for audio gear, music, and history, he brings a rich tapestry of experiences to his life.
In creating TurnKey, Bob aims to provide maximum value to his customers and community—a testament to his unwavering commitment to personal growth and service to others.
